The Society for Risk Analysis is a professional society providing an open forum for all those who are interested in risk analysis. Risk analysis is broadly defined to include risk assessment, risk characterization, risk communication, risk management, and policy relating to risk. Membership is multidisciplinary and international.

This is RiskWorld’s internal website for the Presidential / Congressional Commission on Risk Assessment and Risk Management. The Commission was mandated under the 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act to evaluate and make recommendations concerning risk assessment and risk management practices across the federal government. The site provides access to the Commission’s mandate, reports, membership, and other information.

By entering a zip code, one can determine the identities and amounts of substances released by local industrial facilities as reported according to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Toxics Release Inventory. No information about risks is available, only chemical releases. Links to other sites providing information about specific chemicals are available.


TOXNET provides access to a cluster of databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, and related areas, including the Hazardous Substances Data Bank, the Integrated Risk Information Service, and the Toxics Release Inventory.
